She knows the importance of the energy of your home and how that can affect your health however, so she is grateful to be able to help people improve the qi (energy) of their living and working spaces. She has been a certified feng shui consultant since 2003, performing a limited number of consultations each year since her focus is on treating patients with acupuncture. She has done additional certifications and trainings in Core Strength Vinyasa Yoga and Kundalini Yoga. Jen has been teaching yoga since 2006, and enjoys teaching people firsthand that yoga doesn’t have to be intimidating. Jen began practicing reiki as an additional healing modality in 2008 and in 2015 became certified as a Reiki Master. She received her Masters in Acupuncture from Tai Sophia Institute (now Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH)) in 2010, and her Doctorate in Acupuncture from MUIH in 2018. After seeing the healing that was possible through acupuncture, she left science to become an acupuncturist. Jen had always wanted to help people, and worked as a behavioral neuroscientist for 15 years, receiving her Master of the Arts degree in Experimental Psychology in 1999 and working at many prestigious institutions in the years that followed. In the years that followed, she was cured of her anxiety issues, and now uses acupuncture as a means to help her continue to fulfill her destiny and unabashedly do the work she knows she is put on the planet to do. In 2005, she began to receive acupuncture for a gall bladder condition, and was healed soon thereafter. Jen knows first-hand about the transformative power of acupuncture. Jen Yocum, M.A., M.Ac., L.Ac., RYT200 is the founder of Indigo Fox Acupuncture & Wellness, a licensed acupuncturist, a Reiki Master, and a yoga teacher.
